Trade Union Governance and Corruption interim report cover

The Interim Report of the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption was handed to the Governor-General at Government House in Canberra on 15 December 2014. The Interim Report was tabled in the Australian Parliament on 19 December 2014.

Within the report, case studies are considered in separate Chapters. Some case studies are grouped together thematically in separate Parts. The table of contents provides a comprehensive guide to the relevant cases studies.

In relation to each case study, the relevant Chapter summarises the evidence, addresses the submissions of counsel assisting and those submissions received from interested and affected parties (and where relevant, third parties) and sets out findings of fact and legal conclusions.

Given that the report is an interim one and that the Commission’s inquiries were continuing, the report did not aim to reach final conclusions or make recommendations as to law reform. However, possible areas of law reform were foreshadowed where appropriate.
